Privacy Policy

We hold certain information about you that comes under the lawful basis of ‘special category data’. It is held so that we can identify you and provide you with the healthcare that you, or a person that you are legally responsible for, requires. We also use your contact information so that we can make and confirm appointments, send annual reminders and occasionally for marketing purposes.

The data we hold in your records is the data you give us at your first appointment eg: name, date of birth, address, contact details (phone no., email address, next of kin). You will also have given us your medical history, including your GP’s name and address. We will not receive information from any third parties unless you have requested this and only then if we feel it is relevant to your care.

We use these details to uniquely identify individual patients, to contact you regarding appointments, to help in our medical assessments/treatments and to identify when we need to consider issues of consent (when treating under 18 year olds for example).

We will never share your information without your prior consent. On occasion we may need to contact another health professional, clinic or hospital regarding your health this will only be done with your agreement. The only time this will be done without prior consent is in the rare circumstance where an emergency occurs and you are not able to give information to the emergency service attending. If asked we will give any information we hold on record about your health and contact details.

The medical history we hold about you can include, past and current conditions and diseases, medication, allergies, any surgeries and/or hospitalisations, and familial medical history. We may take photos of your problem for future reference, this will only be done with your consent, and they will be kept on record and not shared unless requested by you in writing.

Whilst we do hold a record of charges and payments for goods and services provided, we do not hold any credit/debit cards or cvv numbers. Card machine receipts have no identifiable data and are kept for 7 days before being securely destroyed.

The information we hold on you comes under the lawful basis of ‘special category data’, and the conditions we are using are from article 9, paragraphs c, h and i.
